War is raging on a world where the elements of Water, Earth, Fire and Air can be controlled by magic - and only one boy, the mystical Avatar, can bring peace.
One hundred years ago, the Fire Nation declared war on its neighbours. Now, 12-year-old Aang (Noah Ringer) is called upon to reunite the warring nations and bring about peace. Not only is he the last Airbender, a being with the ability to manipulate currents of air, Aang is the Avatar, the living embodiment of the entire planet. Reluctant to accept his duty, Aang is accompanied by young warrior Sokka (Jackson Rathbone) and his waterbender sister Katar (Nicola Peltz). The journey won't be an easy one. Disgraced Prince Zuko (Dev Patel) has vowed to capture the Avatar and secure the Fire Nation's victory in a bid to restore his own honour. Based on the massively successful animated TV series, this is the first chapter of an epic trilogy.
