London, 14 July 2010 – Cineworld will today become the only UK cinema chain to offer its customers film information from a dedicated iPhone application. The Cineworld application, designed and built by Can Factory, will provide cinema-goers with quick and easy access to content along with the ability to purchase tickets directly for all 78 of the chain’s nationwide cinemas. 

Film fans will be able to use the iPhone app to geographically find their nearest Cineworld and explore film information and screening times before proceeding to book tickets. Other content available will include film recommendations, trailers and details of upcoming releases.

For the ultimate convenience, users will be able to simultaneously view film schedules from across multiple Cineworld sites, comparing film listings and screening times.   

Beyond the iPhone, consumers can also access the Cineworld website whilst on the move via the Cineworld mobile site; with information on current films and cinema locations, along with the capability to purchase cinema tickets.  

This announcement follows the recent launches of other innovative digital initiatives, including a dedicated mobile website, Facebook Share on Cineworld.co.uk allowing users to easily share cinema and film content with their online network of friends, and Cineworld Cinemas API portal allowing website developers use of cinema and film time information for their own sites.

The Cineworld iPhone Application will be available to download free of charge from iTunes and Cineworld.co.uk from 13th July 2010.
