News! Black Panther 2 is moving ahead, says Marvel's Kevin Feige

Marvel's Black Panther has crushed all in its path, amassing over $1 billion at the box office and with 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. That makes it one of the studio's highest-grossing movies, and, currently, their best-reviewed.

It's therefore no surprise that Marvel's President Kevin Feige is keen to push forward with a sequel. And all hail Wakanda, he's officially confirmed the news in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"We absolutely will do [a sequel]," he said. "One of the favourite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one."

Chadwick Boseman will return as title character T'Challa, although it's not yet clear whether director Ryan Coogler will be back. No release date has been set, but with nine movies confirmed in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we can expect the movie to be one of them.

In the meantime, T'Challa, plus allies Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Shuri (Letitia Wright), will be fighting alongside the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War. The movie hits our screens on 26th April. Stay tuned for details on when you can book tickets.
