Incredibles 2

What’s the story? In 'Incredibles 2', Helen / Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter) becomes the poster girl for the world’s superheroes, while Bob (Craig T. Nelson) becomes a stay-at-home dad, dealing with kids Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack – whose superpowers are misfiring spectacularly. Their new life is derailed, however, when a villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don't shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. After all, that's what makes this family so Incredible.

Skyscraper (2D & IMAX 3D) opens Thursday 12th

What’s the story? Musclebound icon Dwayne Johnson plays former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he's been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family, who are trapped inside the building, above the fire line.

What’s the story? After their mother's death, Jack (20) and his siblings, struggle to survive on their own, hiding from the world and with no other place to go, when a threatening presence begins to haunt the old house.

First Reformed (limited release)

What’s the story? Taxi Driver director Paul Schrader teams up with Ethan Hawke for a compelling state-of-the-world drama about faith, the environment and mankind’s future. Hawke plays the Rev. Ernst Toller, a troubled parish priest called to counsel a pregnant parishioner (Amanda Seyfried) whose environmentalist husband is showing signs of suicidal despair. Toller is plunged into his own tormented past and finds himself questioning where redemption might lie. An outstanding cast delivers a thrillingly fierce film that’s already being acclaimed as a modern American masterpiece.

Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan (Punjabi)

What’s the story? They say love is blind, and for Pargat it literally is. Desperate to get married, he falls for Gagan and woos her until she says yes to marriage – but first he has to seek her father's approval. Pargat accepts the challenge and along with his friends Sukhi and Honey, embarks on 'mission win over father-in-law'. He succeeds, but following an evening of celebrations, he wakes up to not only discover he is blind but that it could be permanent. With his wedding only a week away, will Pargat get through his wedding and the many ceremonies without revealing his blindness? All the answers will be revealed in this rip-roaring comedy.

Spitfire (Tuesday 17th July, 1pm & 7pm)

What’s the story? Spitfire is the true story of an aeroplane that was forged in competition, shaped as the clouds of World War II gathered, and refined in the white heat of combat – going on to become the most famous fighter plane ever made. Credited with changing the course of world history, this is the story of the Spitfire – told in the words of the last-surviving combat veterans. With stunning aerial footage from the world's top aviation photographer, the film also contains rare, digitally re-mastered archive footage from the tumultuous days of the 1940s when her power in the skies was unrivalled.

RSC LIVE 2018: ROMEO AND JULIET (Wednesday 18th July, 7pm)
