This year marks the 55th anniversary of the most famous movie monster of them all: Godzilla. Prepare to hail the king when MonsterVerse instalment Godzilla: King of the Monsters arrives in Cineworld on 29th May.
King of the Monsters pits the titular Toho Studios icon against several other classic characters from Godzilla lore, including three-headed King Ghidorah, the graceful Mothra and the fire-breathing Rodan. Caught in the middle of this clash of the titans are Monarch scientist Emma Russell (The Conjuring's Vera Farmiga) – that's the same government agency as featured in the earlier Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island – and her daughter Madison (Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown).
The movie co-stars Kyle Chandler (The Wolf of Wall Street), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Ken Watanabe (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu) and O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton). It's directed by Krampus film-maker Michael Dougherty and preps us for next year's Godzilla vs Kong, which as the name implies pits the two MonsterVerse figureheads against each other.
If 24 hours is just too long to wait until the movie's, then enjoy the following behind the scenes snippet in which Brown and Jackson Jr. are joined by co-star Thomas Middleditch as they attempt to recap as many Godzilla facts as possible in 60 seconds. How well do they do? Watch the video to find out.
