Go behind the scenes of Mary, Queen of Scots with Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie

The stage is set for an epic clash of leadership in this month's sweeping period drama Mary, Queen of Scots.

The movie is based on the engrossing, ultimately tragic rivalry between Elizabeth I of England and her cousin Mary Stewart, ruler of Scotland. When Mary assets her claim to the English throne, Elizabeth is compelled to respond, all the while as both women contend with a manipulative male entourage of lovers and advisors.

Bringing these towering historical figures to life are Suicide Squad's Margot Robbie as Elizabeth (now the recipient of a BAFTA nomination) and Brooklyn's Saoirse Ronan as Mary. Check out the following behind the scenes videos in which both stars explore the rivalry lurking at the centre of one of the most turbulent periods in British history.
