Guillermo del Toro horror Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark screened in advance for Cineworld Unlimited members last night, and the reactions are in.
Based on the bestselling short story series by Alvin Schwartz, this spooky chiller revolves around a haunted book that unleashes hideous monsters on a sleepy American town.
Heather Fell says that despite a shaky start, the movie's creepiness increased as it went on.
Disappointing start, felt very similar to a Final Destination movie but improved towards the end with some decent scares. Weird at times and felt fairly inconsistent but overall an easy and good watch!

Daniel Mumford says things are left wide open for a sequel.
I enjoyed it but it could have done with a bit more backstory for the past events, also it's obviously left open for a sequel, but left open by not really having a proper ending!... #UnlimitedScreening #ScaryStoriesMovie

On the other hand, That Guy says that for him, the movie doesn't live up to its potential.

Chris Wilkinson agrees that it should have been scarier.
It was rather patchy. When it was good it was very entertaining and sometimes quite scary, but at other points it went rather flat and dull. 6/10 for me.

Was ok, the story had promise. The effects at the beginning were great, but not so much for the rest of the film.
