Cineworld Cinemas are re-opening | COVID-19 Customer Update and Safety Measures

*UPDATE*

Our cinemas in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland are now open. At Cineworld our main priority remains the safety of our customers and employees. We of course follow all instructions and regulations of the local authorities and current government guidelines and regulations.

Unfortunately, due to new government restrictions which have been introduced in Jersey, Cineworld will no longer be able to re-open there on August 26th as planned - as it is not viable for us to operate. We apologise for the inconvenience but look forward to re-opening the cinema for our valued customers when restrictions are eased.

FACE COVERINGS

In line with new government guidelines, face coverings must be worn in the cinema but can be removed when eating and drinking.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Social distancing measures have been implemented across all areas within the cinema in line with local government guidelines as required.

HAND WASHING

All employee and customer toilets will be stocked with anti-bacterial hand soap, and stringent handwashing guidelines will be in place for all employees to supplement our current personal hygiene policy.

HAND SANITISERS

Hand sanitizer stations are provided in all cinemas for customers and employees.

ADDITIONAL CLEANING

Our already high cleaning standards will be enhanced by a cleaning programme designed to clean and sanitise the high touch points within the cinema.

E-TICKETING

We encourage customers to book tickets in advance via our website and via the Cineworld app, available via iOS and Android. Confirmation emails can be used as tickets, and e-tickets are available on the app.

UPDATED SEATING MAPS

Our booking system has been updated to allow you to sit next to your friends and family in our cinema screens while ensuring a safe distance between customers from separate groups. This varies depending on the capacity and layout of each screen, as well as on the government restrictions in effect in each cinema location.

STAGGERED FILM TIMES

Film start and end times are staggered to reduce customers crossing paths with other customers going in or out of other screens and build-up of crowds in the foyer. Additional cleaning time has been added between films.

PLASTIC SCREENS AT THE TILL

We have added screens at our concessions areas where social distancing cannot be maintained.

CONTACTLESS PAYMENTS

Our tills accept contactless card payments up to a value of £45/€50 and Apple Pay/Google Pay mobile payments with no limit in our cinemas. The ticket machines in most of our cinemas also accept contactless payments and we’re working on upgrading the rest.

TRAINING & PPE

All employees receive specific COVID-19 training and PPE is provided to employees where the risk assessment has deemed it necessary, in line with government requirements.

SUPPORT FROM TEAM MEMBERS

Our trained employees is on hand to offer assistance to customers. We remain committed to being “The Best Place To Watch A Movie”.

CORONAVIRUS CONTACT TRACING

We are taking part in public health authorities’ Coronavirus (COVID-19) Contact Tracing schemes in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. To find out more, please see 15. Coronavirus (COVID-19) Contact Tracing (Section 4.11) of our privacy policy.
