The inspirational sports drama Jockey screened last night for Cineworld Unlimited members, and we've rounded up a few of the reactions. Clifton Collins Jr. (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) stars as a washed-up horse racer on borrowed time who decides to invest in a new racehorse to ensure his career goes out on a high.
Following its successful premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, Jockey now commands the attention of Unlimited members. So, what did they think? Scroll down to read some of the responses.
I enjoyed it, it's nice to see something different than the big Hollywood blockbusters, I got pulled into the stories the jockeys were telling about the injuries they get. Nicely shot with a sort of documentary style and some lovely silhouette shots with the sunsets.

It said something to me about gain, loss, & ageing. Loved the photography - perfectly using dawn / twlighlight shots of being ‘in between’ or maybe the dawn of Gabriel at the fading of Jackson? Understated & wonderful. I was dreading some Rocky, Green Velvet cliche resolution.

It was absolutely brilliant

Awards worth performing from Clifton Collins Jr, beautiful magic hour cinematography and a strong dramatic centre
The sort of film we should champion more of with unlimited screenings
It had a feel of Nomadland about it, but it felt like you were waiting for something to happen which never came. The shaky camera work was a bit off putting. Overall, not my favourite but always welcome the opportunity to watch something different.

it might play better to people with even an ounce of interest in horse racing, but personally i found it tedious. dark cinematography and a crawling pace meant that even three good performances (Collins jr, Parker and Arias) couldn't save it.

It was really good, looked and felt like a Micheal Mann, movie. Moved at a good pace.
