So you might be aware that last night brought us the epic 2019 Super Bowl – but we're not here to talk about American football.
We're all about the awesome trailers that dropped during the annual, all-American extravaganza, ones teasing some of the year's biggest upcoming releases. And because we're so good to you, we've rounded them up right here for your viewing pleasure.
Avengers: Endgame
Released 26th April
Marvel's beleaguered Avengers are down but not out in the snappy new 30 second teaser for Avengers: Endgame.
Following December's first full-length promo, we now get a closer look at the world left behind in the wake of Thanos' (Josh Brolin) finger-snap. Shots of a devastated New York set an appropriately bleak tone, but there's a note of clear defiance from Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and the like.
Amid the quick-fire footage, we see Ant-Man and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) suiting up (here's hoping they don't recall their tussle from the first Ant-Man movie), and a seriously cool team silhouette framed within the Avengers base. We also see more shots of Hawkeye in his Ronin gear, Iron Man working alongside Nebula (Karen Gillan) and more glimpses of the plucky Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper).
"Some people move on... but not us," states the Captain. We can't wait for the Avengers: Endgame fight to come on 26th April.
Captain Marvel
Released 8th March
Marvel's newest superhero is an intriguing figure caught between the Earthbound and intergalactic realms. Previous Captain Marvel trailers have gone heavy on the outer-space spectacle, but the latest teaser fills in the character's human origins. Introduced as Carol Danvers, Brie Larson's Air Force pilot is shown bantering with fellow pilot Maria Lambeau (Lashana Lynch).
There's also a brief glimpse of the story's inter-generational sweep, flashing back to the young Danvers when she first got the need for speed. Plus, with action-heavy shots of Captain Marvel's fight with alien race the Skrulls, plus a fist-bumping moment where she takes to the skies with the younger Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), this looks to be one of the most infectiously entertaining Marvel blockbusters so far.
Us
Released 22nd March
Jordan Peele's chilling-looking follow-up to his sensational, Oscar-winning Get Out focuses on a family beset by their own demonic doppelgängers. Black Panther duo Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke lead the cast, and their intriguing dual roles get a spine-tingling airing in the new Us trailer.
Once again Peele does a deep dive into identity and our own troubled psyches, while promising to ramp up the twisted imagery (scissors and rabbits feature heavily). When one ordinary black American family take a beach holiday in Northern California, it doesn't take long for mother Adelaide (Nyong'o) to remark upon a series of eerie coincidences.
Before long, she and the rest of her brood are coming face to face with the Tethered... And we'll come face to face with them ourselves when Us hits screens on 22nd March.
Hobbs & Shaw
Released 26th July
This trailer for the Fast & Furious spin-off already reared its head on Friday, but it made another appearance at the Super Bowl.
Pairing Dwayne Johnson's beefy Luke Hobbs with Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw, this is the latest in a blockbuster series that proves physics really don't matter. As proof of that, check out the trailer in which our two reluctant allies square off against Idris Elba's invulnerable Brixton, who is capable of running down the side of massive skyscrapers.
Mike Leigh, this ain't, but with Mission: Impossible - Fallout's Vanessa Kirby also in the mix, we can surely expect a wild ride. Directed by Deadpool 2's David Leitch, Hobbs & Shaw is released on 26th July.
Toy Story 4
Released 26th June
Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and the gang are back in Disney-Pixar's feverishly anticipated Toy Story 4. How can it possibly improve on the pitch-perfect, bittersweet tone of 2010's Toy Story 3, however?
We're about to find out on 26th June when this "road trip" movie (as director Josh Cooley describes it) brings Woody back into contact with his old flame Bo Peep (Annie Potts). There's also a brand new, handmade toy thrown into the mix: existential crisis-ridden Forky (Tony Hale), who is trying to find his place in the world.
Are we looking at another Disney-Pixar masterpiece in the making? Either way, there's no denying the amount of pressure resting on this latest Toy Story adventure.
Wonder Park
Released 8th April 2019
An all-star voice cast brings to life this animated adventure from Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol writers Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec.
Kenan Thompson, John Oliver, Jennifer Garner, Mila Kunis and Matthew Broderick are among those voicing the animals located within eponymous amusement park, Wonder Park. Conjured up in the imagination of young orphan girl June Baily (Brianna Denski), she's astonished when her make-believe world springs to life.
