We've got three Cineworld Unlimited screenings headed your way in the next few weeks, and we're handily summarising them so that you know what's on and when.
We're beginning with The Duke on Wednesday 16th February. In this sparkling take on true events, Oscar-winner Jim Broadbent (Iris; Hot Fuzz) plays 1960s pensioner and cabbie Kempton Bunton who embarks on an audacious heist from London's National Gallery. When he absconds with a priceless portrait of the Duke of Wellington and artwork from Francisco Goya, Kempton finds himself firmly in the spotlight. Check out the first trailer for the movie, which co-stars Oscar-winner Helen Mirren (The Queen) and is the final film from the acclaimed director Roger Michell (Notting Hill; Enduring Love).
Next up: Ali & Ava, which screens on 22nd February. Acclaimed British director Clio Barnard (The Selfish Giant) presents a moving story of interracial romance, fronted by two sublime performances. Four Lions' Adeel Akhtar and Ammonite's Claire Rushbrook play the eponymous Ali and Ava. The movie is set in present-day Bradford where the ostensibly settled Ali, a British-Asian man and aspiring DJ, finds himself growing distant from his wife Runa (In the Earth's Ellora Torchia). He then meets and develops a bond with the widowed classroom assistant Ava, and a relationship soon develops.
Finally, we have the spirited sports movie The Phantom of the Open on 7th March. Oscar-winner Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies; The BFG) plays real-life chancer Maurice Flitcroft in this endearing story of how Flitcroft blagged his way into the 1976 British Open Golf championship. Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins co-stars in this quintessential underdog story about how tenacity is a fitting replacement for skill, with Submarine star Craig Roberts marshalling the charm from the director's chair.
