The inner life of the revered Wuthering Heights author Emily Brontë is painted vividly in the new period drama, Emily. Rising star Emma Mackey (Sex Education; the forthcoming Barbie movie) plays the tempestuous yet talented writer in Frances O'Connor's earthy and emotional movie. It's a speculative account of the inner demons and romantic spirit of one of the UK's most iconic yet enigmatic artists.
The movie paints an intimate picture of Emily's life with her siblings, Branwell (Fionn Whitehead), Charlotte (Alexandra Dowling) and Anne (Amelia Gething), the last two of whom were to become celebrated authors in their own right. It also charts a fictionalised yet swooning romance between Emily and local village curate Weightman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), which is bound to send hearts aflutter.

Was definitely a different film, Slow Burn, was very atmospheric and felt a bit awkward at times (which I think was the aim) Great Story, very well acted and a whole range of emotions and a bit of comedy. Very different however a good watch 7/10 for me!

It was a very interesting film. The ending was sad however which I will not say the reason as I want you lot to check it out for yourselves. The story was good, the acting was fantastic and it was really well made overall. Score: 7.8/10! Grade: B+! Well Done Everyone! 😁😁😁

Loved it. Wurthering Heights was a book I studied at school so I was totally engrossed in the movie and the possible inspiration to that novel.. I would say that it was a NOVEL idea. The cast were very good and Emma embodied the role of Emily. 8/10.
