Ghostbusters: Afterlife takes you behind the scenes in new 'Passing the Proton Pack' video

What does it mean to pass the Ghostbusters mythology from one generation to the next? Find out in this behind-the-scenes video for Ghostbusters: Afterlife as director Jason Reitman (Juno) talks about inheriting the mantle from his father, Ivan.

The latter directed the original two Ghostbusters movies, released in 1984 and 1989. The first of the films remains a much-cherished comedy classic, replete with memorable lines, set-pieces and characters. In the year of its release, the original Ghostbusters outstripped the likes of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom to become the highest-grossing movie of the year.

Afterlife, therefore, has a lot to live up to. Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard plays the kid who uncovers some important Ghostbusters lineage within his own family. Ant-Man's Paul Rudd, meanwhile, plays a local high school teacher with acute knowledge of what went down in New York in 1984.

Check out the video in which Jason recalls his own memories of the 1984 Ghostbusters shoot. Plus, get some cool insights into the new movie, due out this November.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is released in the UK and Ireland on 12th November 2021.
