No Time To Die: reasons to be excited for the new James Bond movie

No Time To Die is the 25th James Bond movie and is scheduled for release (at the time of writing) on 2nd April 2021. Daniel Craig is set to bow out as 007 in this, his fifth and final Bond film, which follows on the heels of Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.

Craig famously reworked the role of James Bond in 2006's Casino Royale, redeeming the franchise from camp and invisible cars, and injecting grace notes of emotional realism. His gritty Bond portrayal has been met with acclaim, but could No Time To Die be curtains for 007 as we know it?

He now confronts Rami Malek's Safin, a ruthless maniac with connections to Bond's Spectre love interest Madeleine (Lea Seydoux). True Detective helmer Cary Joji Fukunaga is set to deliver the exotic locations, nostalgic nods (including the return of two classic Aston Martins) and explosive set-pieces, while Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge brings wit to the screenplay.

These are just some of the reasons to be excited about the movie, and we haven't even touched on the presence of the new agents played by Lashana Lynch and Ana De Armas.
