Last night, we invited Cineworld Unlimited members to attend a special early screening of the new Matt Damon movie, Stillwater, before it goes on general release at Cineworld cinemas on Friday (6th August). Directed by Tom McCarthy, this tense thriller sees Damon play a roughneck oil worker who's forced to travel to France in a bid to rescue his daughter (played by Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin), who's been jailed for a murder she claims she didn't commit.

I enjoyed the movie but it was a bit long and the end felt like it was seriously cut. One second the judge has reopened the case and the next scene Allison is back home....

The ending also left this viewer feeling a little disappointed...
It’s a very good film. Great performances and Marseille made a great backdrop. As someone else has said, though, the last 20 minutes did feel rushed, especially given the overall running time. Pacing aside, it’s well worth a watch, & gives the viewer plenty to think about.
