Watch the makers of Women Talking discuss the Oscar-nominated drama

Acclaimed drama Women Talking has picked up two Oscar nominations and is now on release at Cineworld. The movie is frontloaded with talented creatives starting with actor-turned-director Sarah Polley who has scored indie hits with the likes of Away From Her (2007) and the documentary Stories We Tell (2012).

Women Talking is produced by three-time Oscar-winner Frances McDormand (Fargo; Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; Nomadland) who also cameos in the film. The impressive cast is led by Jessie Buckley (Men), Claire Foy (First Man), Rooney Mara (Carol) and Ben Whishaw (Paddington) who collectively boast some truly impressive pedigree.

The movie is adapted from the book of the same name by Miriam Toews and details the aftermath of a horrific crime committed within an all-female Mennonite community. Women Talking deals with provocative and difficult subject matter head-on with clarity and intelligence, say critics, utilising its cross-spectrum of talented individuals to put a human face on a tragic yet engrossing story.
