What has Martin Freeman revealed about his Captain America character?

Martin Freeman is everywhere at the moment. Not content with delighting us in The Hobbit trilogy and TV sensation Sherlock (let's not also forget his brilliantly nervy role in Fargo), Britain's finest is now set to make his stamp on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's because Freeman has been assigned a plum role in next year's Captain America: Civil War.

So, what's the role? Well, there's the rub – no-one knows yet. Apart from Freeman and Marvel, obviously. Nevertheless, the actor divulged some juicy details to website  Bad Taste.

"He works for the American government," Freeman explains. "He works in conjunction with the superheroes, and certain agencies that help to tame the superheroes’ power, I suppose. So you’re not quite sure which side he’s on. It looks a little bit like he’s playing one game when actually he’s playing another."

Sounds mysterious... And there's more. "It’s the kind of character I like because it’s ambiguous and because you don’t know whether he’s good or bad. I like that area that isn’t black or white, I like the grays, because I think there’s just more fun to be had in not playing one obvious line."

No doubt we'll be discovering more shades of gray with regards to Freeman's character as we approach the film's release date. Captain America: Civil War is set to open on 29th April 2016.

Who do you think he'll be playing? Suggestions @Cineworld if you please.
