All-action sibling smackdown Polite Society has screened in advance for Cineworld Unlimited members. This wry mash-up of cultural drama, broad comedy and martial arts mayhem focuses on a young woman who must adopt a heroic alter-ego to save her older sister from a dull arranged marriage.
We wanted to know what Unlimited members made of the movie – here are a few of the responses.
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! It was just as I had hoped it would be where it's got action, whacky slapstick and a real proper mission. The whole cast were fantastic and I genuinely felt like I was part of the movie! Overall Score: 8.8/10! Grade: A! Well Done Everyone!!! πππ

Great fun, reminded me of the tone and cartoon physics of Scott Pilgrim. Really interesting characters, so colourful and great to see a female-led action film enjoying itself like this. Thanks for the early screening

#PoliteSociety is utterly delightful! It’s rambunctious, hilarious and oh so charming with a sublime story and a star making lead performance by Pryia Kansara that’s truly fantastic. Nida Manzoor has directed something truly special here. Polite Society is simply amazing! ππ₯ pic.twitter.com/YMfPusew5O

This did not disappoint! Not only the representation was there as a British south Asian Muslim but also what great humour, action and characters!

It was very silly, terribly overacted (I’m hoping deliberately) but also very enjoyable.

It had a bit of a “Rocky Horror” double-feature vibe to it, like 2 films stitched together - the first half a family drama and the second a whacky action-comedy.
Really enjoyable as a sort of Bollywood-come-black comedy-horror, it has just enough substance to sustain the film.

Fun to watch, bit dark in places, but funny in a lot of others.
