Forget what you think you know about the Transformers. This week's major new blockbuster release Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is inspired by the popular Beast Wars animated series, and brings three new factions to the big screen with all the CGI wizardry a massive budget can muster.
One of the most important factions is the Maximals, a collection of animalistic shape-shifters who align with the heroic Autobots (led by Optimus Prime, voiced by Peter Cullen( to fight the menacing Predacons and Terrorcons. The Maximals are led by the gorilla-like Optimus Primal, voiced by Ron Perlman, and they also include the hawk-like Airazor, voiced by Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh.
Go behind the scenes in the following video and discover how the Maximals made the jump to live-action.
Other big names in the new Transformers movie include Pete Davidson and Peter Dinklage. The flesh and blood cast includes Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback.
Behind the camera: Creed II helmer Steven Caple Jr. who is promising a bold new vision for the long-running Hasbro franchise. Click the link below to get your tickets for the movie, opening on June 8th.
