Amazing February adventure movies: Goosebumps and Gods of Egypt

Looking for a blast of family-friendly adventure this month? Scroll down for more details of amazing movies headed your way...

What's the story? Monsters escape from the Goosebumps books in this mayhem-filled family horror-comedy with megastar Jack Black.

When his widowed mum Gale (Amy Ryan) gets a new job in the small town of Madison, Delaware, teenager Zach (Dylan Minnette) is not exactly overjoyed at having to relocate from New York. But he perks up when he meets his attractive new neighbour, Hannah (Odeya Rush).

Unfortunately, her father turns out to be wildly over-protective writer R.L. Stine (Jack Black), who lives in seclusion for fear that his spooky Goosebumps characters could be released from the manuscripts in which they're trapped.

When Zach unlocks one of the books while fooling around, all hell breaks loose. Soon hordes of monsters are on the loose, including an abominable snowman, a werewolf, and a band of evil garden gnomes!

Jack Black reunites with Gulliver's Travels director Rob Letterman for this riotously funny, Ghostbusters-style family fun ride, which includes 25 different RL Stine monsters.

Goosebumps is unleashed on 5th February. Take a look at the trailer exclusively introduced by Black himself.

Gods of Egypt

What's the story? Be swept back into the sands of time in this action-packed adventure set in Ancient Egypt.

It is a troubling time for the powerful Egyptian Empire. The God of Darkness, Set (Gerard Butler) has seized control of the throne and looks to plunge the world into darkness. But there is one hope: a young mortal named Bek (Brenton Thwaites) must team up with deity Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in order to restore balance and save his people.

The director of I, Robot and Knowing, Alex Proyas, delivers spectacle by the pyramid-load in this action-packed, big-budget take on Egyptian mythology. Expect giant monsters, epic war scenes and much more besides as two all-powerful Gods prepare for the final conflict. The cast also includes future Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman as fellow God and father of astronomy, Thoth.

Gods of Egypt is released on 26th February. Check out the trailer below.
