1. DC League of Super-Pets (released July 29th)

Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart voice super-powered mutts on a mission in this action-packed animated adventure from the makers of The LEGO Movie.

The Jumanji and Central Intelligence co-stars voice the canine companions of Superman (John Krasinski) and Batman (Keanu Reeves), respectively, and must bound into action when their masters are kidnapped by the nefarious Lex Luthor (Marc Maron).

Expect plenty of sly in-jokes for the adults and colorful, energetic gags for the youngsters in this tail-wagging addition to the expanding DC movie canon.

3. Minions: The Rise of Gru (on release now)

Ever wondered where your favourite super-villain Gru came from? This sequel to the blockbusting Minions movie gives us the answer.

Steve Carell's delightfully devious baddie is given his own origin story as we're taken back to the 1970s when Gru first met the Minions. Gru is attempting to get in with the Vicious 6 villains' collective, who are voiced by cult action movie luminaries including Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
