The latest Sam Raimi, Send Help, was screened early at Cineworld last night as a part of our Secret Screening offering – and attendees were left surprised and delighted by the psychological thriller turned horror as colleagues Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien finally come to blows as they fight for survival on a deserted island.
Book to watch Send Help when it arrives on 5th February at Cineworld where you can opt to watch it in 4DX and ScreenX, and read on to find out people’s verdict on Send Help.
Our favourite thing about our Secret Screening events is introducing people to films they might not have otherwise chosen to watch. Turns out Send Help was a surprising hint for many, especially as a film that dips its toes into the horror genre – one that many either love or hate.
Good film which I’d otherwise would’ve missed

We’re glad your wife enjoyed the film, Eurwyn!
Brilliant! So glad it wasn’t listed as a secret screaming or the wife wouldn’t have watched it, she absolutely loved it as did I 👏👏👏 thank you @Cineworld

For many, it was also a welcome return to form from Sam Raimi, whose last release was 2022 with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
This was a 4/5⭐️ for me! I love Sam Raimi’s directorial style anyway and I’m so glad to see him back! Rachel McAdams was fantastic and it was refreshing to see her in a completely new light! Way funnier than expected and full of those gruesome moments along the way!

Absolutely brilliant, Raimi does it again with some fantastic directing and some shot styles that we have come to love of his over the years, plus it's got a Danny Elfman soundtrack 😍 I may have to see it again 😉 #SendHelp #SecretScreening

And, of course, we need to give a round of applause for Rachel McAdams. Send Help sees her like we never have before, but wowee does she suit the unhinged woman role. And Dylan O’Brien was equally brilliant, too.
I was very much hoping it would be #SENDHELP ! Fun dark comedy with a brilliant Rachel McAdams 👏👏

Be warned, though. It is definitely a horror and it is most certainly filled with gore!
This film was crazy… I forgot it was a horror till it was horrific…!! #SendHelp #SendHelpMovie

Perhaps weirdly, though, you can also expect plenty of laughs. We’re here for a genre-bending movie, to be honest. It’s giving range.
Such a hugely fun time and the kind of crazy, genre bending anarchic Sam Raimi cinema that’s been sorely missed since Drag Me to Hell. Mixing the tense horror of living on a deserted island while also being extremely funny and great to watch with a crowd.

Send Help was tense, gory, and hilarious at the same time, in classic Sam Raimi fashion. I don't think I've heard so much laughter in the cinema for a while, which is great! The story was also engaging, with plenty of unexpected twists and turns keeping me on the edge of my seat.

Very good film with some gory and gross moments which is a match for classic Sam Raimi movies.

Great score from Danny Elfman.
Performances from Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien are top notch.
A movie well worth seeing on the big screen.
We’re very here for Martin’s elevator pitch: Yellowjackets meets Lost. Let’s gooo!
Great fun, Raimi showing he still has it. A sort of 'what if Yellowjackets and Lost had a kid' vibe to it.

Rachel McAdams was brilliant.
As ever, we’re happy to have delivered another phenomenal title for our Secret Screening nights!
Loved it, 1 of the best Secret Screenings for a while. A fun & zainy dark ride. It was the Lost version of Drag Me To Hell. Rachel McAdams puts in an unhinged, wild, let loose & primal performance. Sam Raimi back to his best. Made me laugh & gross out.
