September movie releases at Cineworld: The Equalizer 3 and more

Summer may be rolling to a close but the must-see movies at Cineworld keep on coming.

Don't forget that with a Cineworld Unlimited membership, you can watch as many movies as you want for less than the price of two tickets per month.

Scroll down for all the details of the incoming films this September.

1. The Equalizer 3 (on release now)

Oscar winner Denzel Washington returns to crack some Mafioso heads in the third, and reputedly final, instalment of the hard-hitting Equalizer series. His character, ex-CIA agent Robert McCall, has now gone to ground on Italy's beautiful Amalfi coast. But Robert can't help but be drawn back into a cycle of violence and vengeance that threatens to consume his life.

Director Antoine Fuqua, a regular collaborator with Washington, again dishes out some crunchy set pieces as things reach their desperate conclusion.

2. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (released September 8th)

Back in 2002, Nia Vardalos scored a sleeper hit with her winning romantic comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding. This charming and funny story of Hellenic tradition and family values, produced by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, went on to become one of the most successful independent movies of all time.

In 2023, Vardalos' lovesick character Fotoula 'Tola' Portokalos takes her madcap family back to Greece after a bereavement. Expect more razor-sharp insights and swooning from Vardalos' co-star John Corbett while the various Portokalos members again steal the show from the sidelines.

3. Past Lives (released September 8th)

This stunning drama was the toast of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Past Lives is the assured feature film debut from writer-director Celine Song and it ripples with the irresistibly cinematic undercurrents of memory and regret.

When two South Korean children are compelled to go their separate ways, they cannot imagine the impact on their respective lives. Reunited several decades later as adults in New York, they are forced to reconcile with what might have been.

4. The Nun 2 (released September 8th)

It's time to play peekaboo with your fingers as the latest instalment of the Conjuring Universe glides onto the big screen. In 2018, the hit horror The Nun sketched the backstory of the hideous Valak, the nun-like apparition we'd first spotted in 2016's The Conjuring 2.

In The Nun 2, novitiate Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) finds herself at a French boarding school, once again forced to confront the entity whom she thought vanquished.

5. A Haunting in Venice (released September 15th)

Kenneth Branagh's Poirot series continues with an adaptation of one of Agatha Christie's lesser-known thrillers. The author's Hallowe'en Party now becomes A Haunting in Venice, as Branagh's genius detective Hercule Poirot confronts a new form of evil that appears to be rising from the grave.

Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Dornan and Tina Fey are among the big A-list names in the cast. Which one of them is the suspect in this fiendish mystery?

6. The Expendables 4 (released September 22nd)

The Expendables may be ageing but they're certainly not ailing. Macho favorites Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Sylvester Stallone and more once again line up the manly banter and the punches in equal measure in a movie tailor-made for those movie fans weaned on cult 1980s action cinema.

7. The Creator (released September 29th)

Rogue One and Monsters director Gareth Edwards is back with a sweeping sci-fi story of a post-apocalyptic future. Tenet's John David Washington plays a resistance fighter who may have discovered the key to destroying the A.I. that has all but obliterated the human race.

The catch? Said key is an innocent young child, prompting a difficult moral decision that plays out against visually lavish action sequences.
