Phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes to an end with this month's Avengers: Endgame (released 25th April). But how exactly will the endgame play out?

It's anybody's guess at this stage, although speculation is rife that the veteran likes of Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) will be taking their last hurrah.

Directed by Infinity War film-makers the Russo brothers, Endgame throws our beleaguered Avengers into one final battle against the evil Thanos (Josh Brolin), who has decimated 50% of all life in the universe. Fortunately the surviving members of our superhero team have got a couple of advantages on their side in the form of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), and Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), who we assumed to be lost in the Quantum Realm at the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp.
