Disney-Pixar's Inside Out 2 trailer introduces the new emotion Anxiety

Back in 2015, Disney-Pixar's Inside Out arrested our hearts with its mixture of gorgeous animation and keen insight into the depths of one's psyche. The movie personified our intangible emotions as living, breathing entities, beautifully bridging the gap between child and adult understanding, and ultimately won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

Inside Out was immediately cemented as one of Pixar's classic movies, standing proud alongside the Toy Story movies, Up and others. It's a tall order to fashion a sequel but that's what we're getting: Inside Out 2 reunites us with emotions Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Tony Hale, replacing Bill Hader) and Disgust (Liza Lapira, replacing Mindy Kaling). Here's the new poster.

As before, we're inside the head of the young girl Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) who has now entered the precarious stage of early adolescence. This means the emotional control console is about to be smashed up and rejigged with the arrival of an important new emotion that defines the teenage experience: Anxiety. And she's not on her own...

Said character is voiced by Maya Hawke (daughter of Ethan) and she's set to keep the existing emotions on their toes. Original director Pete Docter has now given way to helmer Kelsey Mann who explains: "Anxiety might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat. That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.”
