Exclusive interview: Eli Roth and Owen Vaccaro talk The House with a Clock In Its Walls

Spooky family fantasy adventure The House with a Clock In Its Walls is on release now in Cineworld.

Adapted from John Bellairs' popular Gothic novel, it's the story of young orphan Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who is sent to live with his warlock uncle Jonathan (Jack Black) in a creaky old house. While there, he is schooled in the art of magic by Jonathan and witchy neighbour Florence (Cate Blanchett).

The movie marks an unexpected step into wholesome territory for director Eli Roth, a man usually associated with full-blooded horror movies. We caught up with both him and Owen to ask what makes family audiences tick, how to walk the line between scary and sentimental, and how Owen perfected his suitably terrified facial reactions. Plus, watch as both take part in our Amblin picture quiz...
