Nope: first reactions to Jordan Peele's new horror movie praise it as a big 'yep'

Jordan Peele's eagerly awaited Nope promises an amalgamation of many intriguing topics, from alien invasion to the legacy of racial discrimination in Hollywood. And we're here for it.

The Oscar-winning writer/director behind Get Out and Us reunites with the former film's star, fellow Oscar-winner Daniel Kaluuya, for a creepy and provocative experience.

Kaluuya plays a Tinseltown horse trainer who becomes embroiled in bizarre phenomena. Keke Palmer plays Kaluuya's on-screen sister and the strong cast also includes Steven Yeun.

At this stage, Peele's brand of terrifying yet slyly satirical comedy-horror is well-established, and Nope has an awful lot to live up to. It's with a huge sigh of relief that we can reveal the initial responses to Nope are very positive indeed. Maybe it should be called Yep, instead?

Scroll down to read some of the reactions, which praise the visual scope of Peele's latest venture (it's his first movie to be lensed with IMAX cameras), the performances, and the script's unpredictability. Indeed, it seems as if the filmmaker is diversifying and heading down the Steven Spielberg route.

Nope is released in Cineworld on August 12th. Check out the trailer below to get a sense of Jordan Peele's new masterpiece-in-the-making.
