Trailer round-up: Puss in Boots, Magic Mike and Missing

1. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

Possibly the only leche-slurping swordsman in the history of cinema, the adorable Puss in Boots returns for his second solo movie adventure. The Antonio Banderas-voiced character made a huge impression upon his debut in 2004's Shrek 2, and Puss' 2011 spin-off movie was packed with all manner of brilliant gags. (Seriously, we still can't think of the 'oohh' cat without laughing.)

This time, Puss must undertake a magical quest to reclaim eight of his nine lives. Expect plenty of swashbuckling fun as Puss reunites with his feline partner Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek). The voice cast has also managed to wrangle Oscar nominee Florence Pugh and Oscar winner Olivia Colman, both of whom will make undoubtedly wonderful additions to the ever-expanding Pussiverse.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is released on February 3, 2023.

2. Magic Mike's Last Dance

Grab the baby oil and prepare to hit the gym because Channing Tatum's gyrating showman is back in town. The two previous Magic Mike movies drew on Tatum's experience as a male stripper, lacing authentic observation with plenty of humour and drama.

Steven Soderbergh returns to direct, having sat out the 2015 sequel Magic Mike XXL. The story this time takes our title character to the London stage where he is teamed with Salma Hayek's sensuous socialite. Is it us, or is it suddenly getting hot in here?

Magic Mike's Last Dance is released on February 10, 2023.

3. Missing

The 2018 thriller Searching was a clever and topical update on suspense thriller mechanics. Told entirely through the medium of phone footage and computer screens, it relayed a father's desperate search for his missing daughter, to resultant acclaim and box office success.

A Wrinkle In Time's Storm Reid takes the lead in this 'standalone sequel', the latest chapter in a planned anthology series. Reid plays a young Los Angeles woman attempting to track down her mother's disappearance in Colombia. The original movie's director Aneesh Chaganty co-writes the script but cedes directorial duties to debut filmmaking duo Nick Johnson and Will Merrick.

Missing is released on February 24, 2023.
