Fast X reveals Vin Diesel on its first poster

Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto faces the end of the road in the first poster for Fast X. The moody one-sheet hints at some kind of spiritual crisis for everyone's favourite mumbly and muscly carjacker. But of course, we're really on board for the physics-defying stunts, roaring V-12 engines and enough testosterone to fuel a Chuck Norris convention.

Does the poster reveal imply that a trailer is imminent? We haven't seen anything of Fast X yet and a teaser is, frankly, long overdue. Diesel returns for the tenth movie in the full-throttle franchise that has racked up billions of dollars worldwide and caused untold numbers of jaws to drop to the floor.

Diesel is flanked by the familiar squad including Michelle Rodriguez' Lettie, Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw, Sung Kang's Han, Tyrese Gibson's Roman, Ludacris' Tej, Jordana Brewster's Mia, Helen Mirren's Queenie and John Cena's Jakob (the last of whom is Dom's brother, and was introduced in the ninth movie).

A newcomer to the franchise is Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa, who plays Fast X's villain. It's been reported that Momoa's character, Dante, is collaborating with the existing villain Cipher, played by a returning Charlize Theron. Another new face is West Side Story veteran Rita Moreno – she's playing Dom's grandmother Abuela.

As before, the stunts are set to be huge and the global expanse even bigger. Filming locations for Fast X have included Rome, London, Turin and Lisbon, although don't expect veteran Fast & Furious director Justin Lin to be pulling it all together.

He left owing to alleged creative conflicts with Diesel. Directorial duties now fall to Louis Letterier who has helmed the Transporter films (also starring Jason Statham) and Marvel's The Incredible Hulk. After Furious 9 sent Roman and Tej into space, we can't help but wonder where the franchise will go next – underwater?

Will the inaugural Fast X trailer make its spectacular debut during the February Super Bowl? Or are we likely to get it earlier? Either way, the movie is set to release at Cineworld on May 19th.
