The battle is on to save a wintry kingdom in Disney's delightful new animation Frozen

A delightful take on timeless Hans Christian Andersen fairytale The Ice Queen, Frozen is the story of a magical land gripped by eternal winter.

Summer in the kingdom of Arendelle has just turned unseasonably cold. As the freeze grips the land, young Anna (Kristen Bell) realises who's responsible. It's her sister Elsa (Idina Menzel) – who's been cursed from birth with the ability to create ice and snow.

Now, impetuous and daring Anna must track Elsa down in a race against time to save her kingdom. Joining her on her quest are rugged, ice-harvesting mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Goff) and his loyal reindeer Sven.

Director Jennifer Lee (herself a co-writer on this year's Disney hit Wreck-It Ralph) says the dynamic between sisters Anna and Elsa has a resonant message for family audiences. "The main theme of Frozen is about fear vs love… There's no greater way to tell that story than through love of family."

One of the many memorable characters Elsa and Kristoff meet along the way is loveable, accident-prone snowman Olaf (Josh Gad). Take a look at the clip below in which Olaf demonstrates his singing chops – not to mention his ill-fitting love of summer! We think he could steal the movie – what do you think?

Frozen is released on 6 December.
